These kinds of dog foods can be stored in freezers for longer period of time. The second type of the food for dog is the dehydrated food which is available in the raw and cooked form. In order to reduce the level of moisture in these dog foods, they are dried and bacterial growth is inhibited. The third type of alternative dog food is the fresh or refrigerated food which is manufactured by pasteurization of the fresh ingredients. This food for dog is semi cooked and it is kept at cool temperature for using it for 2 to 4 months.
Dog owners also prefer to serve homemade food to their dogs. These foods for dog are prepared by the people and they are sold in the market. Homemade food does not have many preservatives therefore, it should be consumed within few days.
